About the event

Interactive Slide Discussion: Major Salivary Gland Neoplasms

2 CDE/CPD Credits/Points

This interactive pre-conference session offers an in-depth exploration of major salivary gland neoplasms through whole-slide imaging and carefully curated case material. Designed to simulate real diagnostic workflow, participants will review representative tumors accompanied by relevant clinical information and will be encouraged to formulate differential diagnoses prior to the live discussion.

During the session, an expert panel will guide attendees through the key morphologic features, diagnostic reasoning, and critical decision points that underpin accurate classification of salivary gland tumors in routine surgical pathology practice. Particular emphasis will be placed on recognizing challenging histologic patterns, distinguishing overlapping entities, avoiding common diagnostic pitfalls, and integrating microscopic findings with clinical context to arrive at confident, defensible diagnoses.

Unlike traditional lecture formats, this track emphasizes active engagement and interpretive thinking. By working through cases in a structured manner, participants will refine their ability to approach complex salivary gland pathology systematically and apply insights directly to everyday diagnostic practice.

Who should attend

This track is particularly suited for:

• Oral and maxillofacial pathologists
• General surgical pathologists
• Head and neck pathologists
• Pathology residents and fellows
• Postgraduate students in oral pathology
• Academicians and researchers in diagnostic pathology
• Clinicians with a strong interest in salivary gland disease

The session is designed for an international audience and aims to bridge the gap between textbook descriptions and real-world diagnostic challenges.

International Diagnostic Concordance Study

Licensed pathologists (general, oral, or head and neck) who participate in the session will have the opportunity to contribute to an international diagnostic concordance study based on the cases discussed. Participation in the study component is optional. Pathologists who choose to take part will receive a special certificate acknowledging their contribution.

Registration Information
