Assistant Professor, Orofacial Pain & Dental Sleep Medicine

Dr. Pratishtha Mishra is a dual board-certified specialist in Orofacial Pain and Dental Sleep Medicine and serves as faculty at the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry. She also holds advanced training in Periodontics, reflecting a multidisciplinary approach to oral health and systemic disease.

Her clinical practice focuses on the management of complex orofacial pain conditions, temporomandibular disorders, and sleep-related breathing disorders. Her research interests include neuropathic pain mechanisms and the impact of obstructive sleep apnea on periodontal health.

Dr. Mishra is actively involved in professional organizations and serves as an officer in the Women in Science Network of the IADR/AADOCR, supporting mentorship and leadership initiatives. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orofacial Pain and recipient of the Educator Award from the American Academy of Periodontology.

She is a frequent invited speaker who brings an integrated perspective on diagnosis and management of TMD and orofacial pain.
